In my teens and twenties I found that Western Medicine held no solution for the excruciating pain I suffered from endometriosis and subsequent chronic fatigue.

Whilst working as a Geotechnical Engineer in Hong Kong, I found solace in Yoga, Chinese Medicine and empowered lifestyle changes. These brought blessed relief from my monthly agony. My life changed from barely existing, to enjoying life's gifts to the fullest. I studied therapeutic massage and trained as a yoga teacher in 2002 to support my new way of being.

Astonishingly I managed to maintain a pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful girl. This inspired me to train further so I could teach peri-natal & baby yoga. In addition, I qualified as a doula and had the joy of supporting many families in their choice of home or hospital births.

In 2010, in search of deeper meaning to my yoga practice and teaching, I discovered Marc’s yoga. It brought clarity and integration to everything I had learnt so far. Whilst studying with him, I took it upon myself to bring his work to the world by helping establish and run the Acquaviva School of Yoga. Since 2020, we have watched the school morph into a vibrant yoga community that continues to grow.

 

I graduated with first class honours in Chinese Medicine at ICOM in 2025. The curriculum included 5 Elements, TCM and Stems & Branches.  I have continued my studies post-graduation, focusing particularly on ancient Chinese practices contained within the Nei Jing, a 2000 year old text that is the basis of all Chinese Medicine. I have fallen in love with the modern Japanese practice of Direct Moxibustion and continue my studies with Masters of the art. I personally have found it to be an uplifting, gentle whilst deeply effective treatment without the necessity of needling.
